Autumn Traditions on the Farm

One-Day

Morning arrival in the Cooperstown area. One hour stop and shop. Enjoy cider and donuts at the Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard, a working cider mill, gift shop and restaurant featuring gourmet foods as well as award winning ciders, hard ciders and apple wines. Winner of the 2001 I Love NY Agri-Tourism Business of the Year Award. 607.547.9692

Mid-morning to early afternoon, tour The Farmers' Museum, a living history museum where you'll experience the sights, sounds and smells of life in rural upstate New York, circa 1845. Once inside this working village and farmstead you can watch everything from wallpaper production to the daily milking of the cows on the farm. Allow two hours. 607.547.1421

Loosen up the belts! Enjoy a buffet luncheon on the veranda of the elegant and historic Otesaga Resort Hotel - which happens to have one of the best buffets around, everything from soup to nuts in a most beautiful setting. Allow one-plus hours. 607.547.9931

Hops become beer - watch the process of brewing Belgian-style beer at Brewery Ommegang, the only farmstead brewery built in America in the last century. It is located on the site of one of the country's top hops-producing farms, about 10 minutes south of Cooperstown. Allow one hour. 800.544.1809
