DAY ONE

Mid-morning tour Fenimore Art Museum, repository of one of the country's largest folk art collections and home of the Eugene and Clare Thaw American Indian Art Collection. Visit the circa 1750 Bark House on the shores of Otsego Lake. Allow two hours. 607-547-1421

Lunch at Fenimore Cafe, overlooking formal gardens, Otsego Lake and Kingfisher Tower. 607-547-1421

After lunch, just across the street, relive rural life in an intimate setting at The Farmers' Museum, where visitors will find a wallpaper factory, school, tavern, church, apothecary and blacksmith shops, a working farm, the Cardiff Giant, and much more. 607-547-1421

Tour an architectural one-of-a-kind , Historic Hyde Hall, which is undergoing a painstaking restoration. Learn about the Clarke mansion and family, as well as more local history. Hyde Hall is on the National Historic Register and a New York State Historic Site. Allow two hours. 607-547-5098

DAY TWO

Visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the artifacts of America's favorite pastime. Learn how the game of baseball and the history of America parallel one another. Allow three hours. 607.547.0250
